We believe that the best education combines rigorous academic standards with creative, inquiry-led learning, aiming to nurture the whole child with a strong focus on encouraging children to become proficient not only in reading, writing, and arithmetic but also in music, art, and drama. Our curriculum emphasises critical thinking, problem solving, and real-world application, where digital learning is promoted, preparing our children to take their place at the global table in the 21st century and beyond. Teachers employ modern methods to adapt lessons, ensuring all children can learn at their own pace and scaffolding the work to create fully inclusive classrooms. We have a highly qualified and experienced SEN department to support children requiring personalised assistance, enabling them to learn alongside their peers. We use a combination of summative and formative assessment, with a focus on assessment for learning. Our curriculum follows the Cambridge Curriculum, culminating in Checkpoint Examinations in Year 6. Success is measured daily, weekly, and termly by growth, curiosity, and the ability to apply knowledge, not solely by test scores. A child’s worth cannot be measured by how well they did in their latest examination.
